Article from van Experimental Garden Randwijk:

During the past 3 years we have tested the biostimulant Good for Greens at the Experimental Garden Randwijk. This product is marketed by the company First Tree. The First Tree website (www.firsttree.eu) provides more information regarding the product.

Good for Greens is a foliar feed which is applied 4 times during the season. Each application uses a different formulation tailored to the actual development stage. During 2019 and 2020, the field tests on cherries provided a positive effect on size and number of fruits. The various field tests provided an average extra yield of 1500 kg compared to the untreated object. Good for Greens actually was applied as an additional treatment, so all other treatments were also applied. These other treatments were equal for both treated and untreated objects. In addition to the de extra yield, a slightly higher brix value and firmness were observed.

During 2020 and 2021 Experimental Garden Randwijk has conducted field tests on Conference. As before, a comparison was made between Good for Greens and the untreated control with 4 repetitions. Good for Greens was applied as extra treatment, so all other treatments were regularly applied. As an example, the usual GA4/7 treatments were applied during 2021 both on treated and control. During 2020 hail damage influenced the result. During 2021 the test was located under hail nets, since we were confronnted with severe hail damage.

During 2020 the difference in yield was approximately 4000 kg/ha extra, while this year some 2500 kg/ha extra was recorded compared to the untreated objects. During 2021 the test was conducted on 2-headed trees of 5 years. These produced 58,5 ton/ha despite the cold flowering weather. At this high production level, the Good for Greens objects accomplished an average extra yield of 2500 kg.

Over the years Good for Greens proves itself as biostimulant. This stimulating foliar feed results in an increased production.
